Sabrina's story

Read about Sabrina's story and the challenges she came across being a working parent. She is now embarking on a new journey to develop the ultimate childcare solution for parents. 

In 2012, Sabrina returned to work seven months after giving birth to her beautiful Son. Unable to find affordable childcare that covered her working hours and travel time, her amazing mum and neighbour provided a solution which enabled Sabrina to work whilst her son accessed the tools that supported his development. This was the start of her relationship with 'Reliable Childcare'. 

As a mum, Sabrina could see what no one else could….

Her son's mobility and speech were visibly different from his peers. Healthcare members refused to review him before his 2-year check. Friends and family would say 'boys develop late'. However, his speech therapist could see the difference and progressed further assessments. 

In 2014, her son was diagnosed with straightforward Autism. He had limited speech and required significant support to develop in line with the Early Years Framework. Sabrina became heavily reliant on the public education system to provide the tools and techniques to enable her son to achieve his best. He called Sabrina mum for the first time just before his 4th birthday, a moment she will cherish forever.

In an ideal world, Sabrina would have given up work and focused 100% of her time on her son. However, faced with the risk of her skills becoming out-of-date and not being able to secure the salary required to support the home, there was one answer for Sabrina. So, she pushed herself to achieve her best. 

Sabrina climbed the corporate ladder and secured a salary which meant her son got everything he needed but it came at the cost of very long hours! Sabrina had limited time to herself. She lived to work and not worked to live.

Her mum's health became unstable overnight and Sabrina was introduced to 'unreliable childcare'. She struggled to find childcare with the level of service required to enable her to pursue her career. 

In 2017, Sabrina decided to take action and started the journey of developing Authentic Branches Childcare Services. A place that cherishes the parent as well as the child, by giving parents the time to remain competitive in their career and personal goals.
